The title of this article is... The Curse of Divorce, I know some of you may not agree with the terminology I used to describe divorce and I know most churches don't talk about this subject the way I'm going to talk about it today, but believe me when I tell you divorce is a curse and more churches need to talk about divorce and the heartbreak it brings.

Divorce is another tool of satan used by satan to send more hapless souls including Christian souls to hell...

(Matthew 5:31-32 King James Version

31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.)

The scripture above says it all, I could pretty much end my article right here, but I have a few more things to say before I do that.  The   scripture I posted above is letting you know that the only way a divorce is valid in the eyes of Jesus is if the divorce was due to adultery, IF NOT you're still considered MARRIED in the eyes of God, so if you remarry you are now in an adulterous relationship.  The only way you can remarry is when your spouse dies.

(Galatians 5:19-21 King James Version 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.)

This is not talked about in most churches today because 50% of marriages wind up in divorce and about 25% of those divorces were probably due to reasons other than adultery, so there may be members of the congregation that may have remarried whose divorces were not due to adultery,  the pastor himself or some other members of the church board may have been divorced for reasons other than adultery and remarried, so this is a subject most churches don't want to talk about so they won't step on anyone's toes, and since most Christians don't read their Bibles they don't know about the perils of divorce.

Some of you reading this may ponder the question what if I'm in an abusive relationship, would God want me to stay in such a marriage?

(1 Corinthians 7:10-11King James Version

10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.)

The scripture I posted above says if you leave, you are to remain unmarried, so if you're in an abusive relationship you can leave but you cannot remarry, you can reconcile with the person and try to get them help, or you can leave but you must stay unmarried, if you get into another relationship while you're married to that abusive spouse because you're separated, and you engage in a sexual relationship with this other person you are committing adultery and adulterers and fornicators do not inherit the kingdom of God...

(Galatians 5:19-21 King James Version

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.)

Divorce is a clever tool satan uses to keep souls from gaining entrance into heaven, he knows most men and women are weak in the flesh and will either get divorced and remarry, which will doom those souls to hell, or they will not remarry and live with someone and commit adultery, either way he wins and the poor souls caught in his trap loses, doomed to hell, thus is the curse of divorce.

The only way out for those poor souls is to leave the adulterous relationship, ask God for forgiveness and repent of their sins.Divorce causes pain for everyone involved, at first it may not seem so, but as time goes by misery begins to set in, I am a divorced man and I can say from experience, Divorce is a curse.  There are times I break out in tears when I remember the good times I had with my wife and children, children today that no longer speak to me for breaking up their family.

At first, right after the divorce I was happy to be free again, I paid my child support and was having what I thought was a good old time.  As I was not a true Christian at that time, I did not know what I know now, I was one of those Christians, that told people I was a Christian but I never went to church or opened a Bible for that matter.  If I were a TRUE Christian I would have NEVER GOTTEN A DIVORCE...

I had a beautiful wife and two great sons, but the grass appeared greener on the other side, but guess what?  It wasn't, so here I am alone.  if it were not for Jesus, I don't know where I'd be.Whenever I hear someone talking about getting a divorce, I try to warn them, but few listen, they just want to do what they feel is best for them and could care less about the feelings of their spouse and children.

Marriage is not going to be a happy go lucky experience 100% of the time, no one is perfect, you're not perfect, so don't expect your spouse to be.  Marriage and family takes commitment and sacrifice, if you're a person that is not willing to sacrifice your wants and needs for the wants and needs of someone else, don't get married, spare yourself and your perspective spouse the agony and pain of divorce.

Christ died for His church (His bride,) husbands you should be willing to do the same for your wives...

(Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;)

(Ephesians 5:28-33 King James Version

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.)

As I said earlier, If only I had known the word of God, I would have never gotten a divorce.  Husbands  you should love your wives to the extent you would be willing to give your life for her if need be, and love her as you love yourselves.

Wives this is what you should do for your husbands...

(Ephesians 5:22-24 King James Version

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.)

(Ephesians 5:33King James Version

33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself ; and the wife see that she reverence her husband)

Wives you have to let your husband be the head of the household, satan wants you to assume the the lead in the home because he wants to create tension in the home as to build up cause for a divorce, but God wants the man to be the head of the home and the word reverence simple means respect, so wives you should respect your husbands.  If you're considering marrying a man you don't respect, don't marry him.

As I said earlier, I am a divorced man and there are instances when I remember the good times I had with my wife and children and regret being tempted into getting a divorce, I know first hand how UGLY A THING DIVORCE IS, anything that has to do with satan is ugly.

Husbands I can tell you from experience you will never LOVE another woman the way you loved the mother of your children, your first wife, no one else will ever measure up .

Most men hardly ever have any contact with their children after the divorce and most of the time it's the children that suffer the most after the curse of divorce, being the product of a selfish parent that cares more for themselves than for their children.

We live in a wasteful disposable society, but the thing we dispose of the most, is people, our spouses and children being on the top of the list of people we throw away.

I pray this article will prevent you from getting caught in one of satan's deadliest traps... The Curse Of Divorce....
