Bearing Fruit

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you”. (John 15:16 ESV) A vine is planted solely for the sake of its fruit; therefore, the fruit is the manifestation of its purpose. This month has been declared for us as the month of Fruit-bearing and it’s a season of productivity as the spirit perpetually leads us in God’s perfect will for us. But here are some thoughts to contemplate on. - The life in the Branch is essentially and entirely the same as that in the Vine. If we are to bear fruit, it can only come as the life and the power that works in the Vine works in us. This alone is the secret of effective service. In John 15:4-5, the Bible says, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me… for without me you can do nothing”. - Hebrews 11:6, says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”. The word of the Lord has gone forth that it’s our month of fruit-bearing; a season of productivity and a period for growth; the ball is now in our court to believe these words and act on it in faith. Our faith must strong at this time to take those bold and giant steps which have somewhat seem impossible trusting fully that none of His words shall return void but shall accomplish that which He pleases and it shall prosper in the thing whereto He sent it (Isaiah 55:11). What a mighty God we serve; taking us from glory to glory, from mounting to a season of fruit-bearing. We are in for a mighty harvest! Glory to God!
