Thought For Today: Life through the Spirit. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11). The Holy Spirit is the life-giver. With the Holy Spirit living in you, no sickness ought to stay in your body. Every cancer ought to die! Diabetes and HIV will be cleansed from your blood when you meditate on the truth that the Spirit of God, the life-giver Himself lives in you. In the Old Testament, God said to the people, “the life of the flesh is in the blood…” (Leviticus 17:11). All living creatures, including man are sustained by the blood flowing in their bodies. But this is different for the man who is born again and filled with the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit gives life to –quickens – your physical body if He lives in you. Even if your body had been paralyzed, the Holy Spirit will give life to your physical body and restore you to perfect health! The Bible says if Christ be in you, though the body be dead because of sin; broken by sickness and disease, the Spirit gives it life because of righteousness (Romans 8:10). In Acts 14:8-10, the Apostle Paul didn’t have to pray for the crippled man at the city gate. All he did was to preach the Gospel and unveil the power of righteousness, and the Spirit vitalized the man’s body. If you’re born again and have received the Holy Spirit, you don’t really need prayer to be healed of any infirmity. You can simply walk out of that sickness or predicament you may have found yourself in. The consciousness of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit is what you need! Being conscious that the Greater One lives in you, and that you no longer live by blood, but by the power of the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, is what you need! That power is at work in you even now, to revive, resuscitate and vitalize your physical body and produce life in every area where you may have hitherto experienced dryness, barrenness, stagnation or death.
