No matter who you are or where you are, God can empower you to do His work!

God’s Power in Your Life: The Power To Do God’s Work No matter who you are or where you are, God can empower you to do His work! Written by Hope on 25/10/2016 Series: Weekly Devotional Tags: Power, Holy Spirit, Guidance God uses Scripture to prepare and equip His people to do every good work. II Timothy 3:17 What makes you feel powerful? If you have accepted God’s forgiveness and allowed Him to teach you to walk in His ways, now you can show God’s empowerment in your life. Here are ways you can show His power through your actions: 1. Don’t Depend On Your Own Strength God’s power is given in His grace; He can work in your weakness. The Apostle Paul worked in the power of God’s guidance only, and is recorded as doing more to help form the early Church than any other Christian. And it was because he depended on God, not on himself. The Lord told him, “My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” And St Paul added, “So if Christ keeps giving me His p

Nutrition tips to detox your six elimination organs

#1: Your liver Your liver is an extremely powerful organ. It works to clean your blood and transform harmful chemicals for excretion. It cleans and filters every ounce of your blood to metabolise all these chemicals – even the good kinds. The best foods for your liver are bitter foods and those that facilitate your body’s production of glutathione (or internal antioxidants). These foods include cabbage, broccoli, beets, salad greens, apples, lemon juice and garlic. If you don’t mind the bitter taste of dandelion, it’s a fantastic herb for your liver’s natural detoxification process, too. #2: Your kidneys The primary role of your kidneys is to flush toxins from your blood by turning it into urine after your liver cleanses it. They flush water-soluble waste in response to electrolyte concentrations and water. While drinking lots of water is excellent for your kidney detox, green herbs and teas are just as beneficial. Green tea, parsley, cilantro nettle and alfalfa are especially good

God’s Forgiveness of Your Sin

Sin ruins your life – Who is powerful enough to forgive and renew you? Written by Hope on 11/10/2016 Series: Weekly Devotional Tags: Creation, Forgiveness, Power, Sin God, who raises the dead to life and creates new things... Romans 4:17b It’s no secret that we live in a fallen world of sin. From infidelity in relationships, to cheating, to lying, to stealing, sin is everywhere! This sin ruins our life and tears us down. However, though we live in a world of sin, God is powerful enough to forgive us! But why would he forgive us? And how does he do it? Here are the three pillars to understand about God’s forgiveness of your sins. God Is The Omnipotent Creator The Bible teaches us that with His wisdom and power He created the earth and spread out the heavens (Jeremiah 10:12). The prophets praised Him: God said “I am Powerful” (Psalm 62:11) and “Lord God, you stretched out your mighty arm and made the sky and the earth. You can do anything” (Jeremiah 32:17). The Lord says of

Understanding the Humble Nature of Jesus

Surrendering our own power and becoming more like Jesus Written by Dan Lee on 04/10/2016 Series: Weekly Devotional Tags: God, Power, Humility You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. Philippians 2:5-7a Power, like control, can become an idol in our lives. The world tells us to be powerful, to be fast, to be strong, and to be in control. Even just recently in the Olympics, we watched the worlds most physically powerful people come together to compete against each other and admired and envied the power they had. Though there is a time and a place for power in acts like sport, we so often desire power and lean on our own power which moves our focus away from God. One of the best ways to resist the unhealthy desire for power in our lives is to model our lives after the humb

For the first time, bees have been placed on the endangered species list

After years of study, the US Fish and Wildlife Service has placed seven species of Hawaiian yellow-faced bees on the endangered species list, the first time any bee has received such classification. The service worked in conjunction with the Xerces Society, which advocates for invertebrate species, as well as local Hawaiian officials, to study the status of the bees. On its website, the Xerces Society noted seven species of the insect have been listed as endangered: Hylaeus anthracinus, Hylaeus longiceps, Hylaeus assimulans, Hylaeus facilis, Hylaeus hilaris, Hylaeus kuakea, and Hylaeus mana. In 1996, the service listed 33 species as “Species of Concern.” The bees are native to Hawaii, and have been declining for a number of years due to intrusion from non-native plants and animals, as well as habitat destruction due to urban development. Scientists note that these bees are integral to the Hawaiian ecosystem as pollinators, and that they are “critical for maintaining the health of p

Trust Him For A Miracle

God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? (Hebrews 2:4). The New Testament gives numerous accounts of the miracles Jesus did during His earthly ministry. John 2:23 tells us that many believed in Him when they saw the miracles He did. But there were also many in His day who didn’t believe in Him despite the miracles. It’s the same thing today; there’re some who say that miracles don’t exist; but their’s is a twisted opinion. Some of us have lived in and experienced, the miraculous; we see, breathe, and experience miracles all the time. The very idea of the existence of a God is to believe in the supernatural. If you don’t believe in miracles, then you don’t believe in God! A miracle is God’s supernatural intervention in the affairs of men. God is a Spirit, and He lives in the realm of the spirit. When you pray to Him, a God that you can’t see with your physical eyes,

Air pollution hurts office workers' productivity, study finds

By Anna Bahney September 30, 2016 We've known air pollution is dangerous for decades. But, sadly, it can sometimes take a profit-driven argument to make companies pay attention. Now we've got one. Researchers tracked the productivity levels of phone bank workers at two travel service call centers, per a paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research. They found workers were 5% to 6% more productive when outdoor air pollution levels were at "good" levels than when they were rated as "unhealthy." The study, led by researchers at Columbia University, University of Southern California and University of California, San Diego, is among the first to document the detrimental impact of air pollution on knowledge-workers in white-collar industries. Previous research has focused on farm and factory workers, the study authors wrote in the Harvard Business Review. The setup for this study was key: The researchers looked at call centers in China,
