Challenges – Your Opportunities For Victory

1 Samuel 17 tells the story of the confrontation between David and Goliath. Before David arrived at the battlefront, the Israelites, for forty days, were continually harassed and taunted by Goliath. Indeed, Goliath, from the natural standpoint appeared invincible, not just because of his immense stature and intimidating armour, but his belligerence! He defied the armies of the God of Israel, and challenged them to a fight. When David heard that whoever defeated the giant would be rewarded–he and his household exempted from tax forever–amongst other benefits, he rose up to the challenge. Rather than be intimidated by Goliath’s immensity, he saw it as his opportunity for a good aim with his sling. With one smooth stone, he fell the great Goliath of Gath whom he decapitated with his own sword, winning the battle for the whole nation of Israel. While King Saul and the entire army of Israel were terrified at Goliath’s size, perceiving him to be an insurmountable obstacle, young David sa

What is the good in God when there is still bad everywhere?

God has created everything, yet has allowed us to make choices that ultimately end up being bad, that result in evil, pain and suffering. The only way that we can explain that is that God doesn’t interfere with our choices. In following the things that God tells me to do, in the scripture through principles and commandments, I begin to live my life by it; and though evil can still penetrate my life, there’s a greater protection, still, I have a better ability to handle it. I don’t see suffering as being inconsistent with a loving God. I see a loving God that’s allowed us to make the choices that we make even though sometimes they result in pretty bad consequences.

Words Of Power!!!

For whatever God says to us is full of living power: it is sharper than the sharpest dagger, cutting swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are (Hebrews 4:12 TLB). The quality of life you live is dependent on how much of God’s Word you feed on, abide in and declare with your mouth. The Bible says you’ve been “…born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever” (1 Peter 1:23). God’s Word is powerful, it is active, and living. With words, God created the world we live in. He spoke and creation leapt into being. The Word existed before anything was ever created, and it has the ability to produce what it talks about. It endures forever and it’s the most reliable power in existence. God’s Word has such power that it holds everything in the universe in place (Hebrews 1:3). You see, the words you receive and declare actually determine what you get. But y
